boat dance 2011

o my gosh.

my voice is gone.
and i'm exhausted.

last night was out of control. San Diego YSA hosted it's annual boat dance. my dear friend stephanie and i thought it would be the bees knees to go in a group consisting of STEPH and boyfriend Nick. MEL and boyfriend Reid, RANDY and ex-sexytime* partner Mallory. and Me and _________. Since I don't have a man of any sorts taking a friend was the obvious choice. So Sunday night after some seriously golatic planning went down. I asked a friend to come he was allll about it. SWEET we had a solar system.

MONDAY

So Monday morning we were off. destination WALMART. goal creating an epic solar system.we found styrofoam balls.some black fruit of the loom vnecks.GLOW in the DARK puffy paint.DONE.SO spent monday at my house doing arts and crafts.

WENSDAY NIGHT

I call my friend to let him know it was ON we were good to go.
he bailed. SERIOUSLY?? his lost. so then I went on a mission to find our MARS.
after a couple calls and texts JOE TANNER agreed to come.

BACK TO SATURDAY NIGHT

after waiting all week to join together the time for the planets to align was finally here

a new place in my heart

alright if you know me.
san diego is my town. and thus being said i've made it a point
to know all the greatest places to eat/visit while here in sd
and there's a new number one.

THE YELLOW DELI
(as well as the little yellow deli in valley center, yes valley center conveniently the city i work in.)

this deli really is paradise.
it's run by the people in the twelve tribes.
a religous organization that practices somewhat the law of consecration
no one has any money. no one gets paid but everyone is given necessities according to their needs.
they are some of the kindest people who you'll ever meet.
however it's not just the excellent service and exquisite hospitality that's got me hooked.
everything. i mean everything is delicious.
most of the food comes from their gardens and if not they still use all organic ingredients.
they bake their bread fresh daily.
also the building are so quaint and darling. there's folk music playing while you eat
your meal and sometime it's even live.
they have wood burning fires going from sundown to sun rise.
o and one more thing. the one in vista it's open 24/5 yep. 24 hours a day 5 days a week

i've never found anything quite like it.

sorry denny's and mexican food you've been replaced for those 5 days.
there's a new place in my heart.

three weddings and a bridal shower.

this has been an ultimate wedding weekend
i went to three weddings and a bridal shower.
unfortunatly.
my camera was MIA for all but one event

this weekend also marks the
first time i have worn a middle part in over 6 years.
i decided i needed a new look and to switch it up
i'm not sure if it's a perminant addition
but i can't say i hated it.

11 days

back home for the summer

i'm home! and i've been home for awhile now. my camera is still broken. : [ not too happy about that. but being home has been delightful. monday i got home at 10:00 and spent the next 3 hours unpacking. it felt so nice to be in my family's house. i love my room here. the next day was spent with the lil boy. we went to swam's cafe ate loveley vegitarian food. (after a year the boy has developed my liking towards vegies). we walked around the some little shops then found our selves in the self relazation gardens. these gardens are BEAUTIFUL and amazingly peaceful. full of exotic plants, koi fish, and over looks the beautiful california cost. if you have not been to these gardens i would definatly recommend a visit. they are located in/behind this aladin looking building.

tuesday was p90x work out day shopping with the mother and her friend followed by a birthday dinner for the lil boy with his family. vegan food. fun little place. the boy's present was explosions in the sky tickets for me and him later this month. thatt will be lots of funnners. today was the boys real birthday. we went on a picnic filled with jimbos cake and fire candles. (seriously 21 candles in a park during the summer in san diego is a definat fire hazard).

i love it here. i can tell it will be a wonderful summer.

one week.

ONE WEEK

that's the amount of time that i have until i go back to CALIFORNIA living. i feel like this is going to be the longest week ever. i really don't know what to except life to be like over the pacific. all i can remember is there is tons of activities going on all the time and i have a car. a car to drive anywhere i'd like : ] o how nice that will be, driving.

time with the parents has been sweet. we played all day Saturday. We went to Kawela's, sharks cove, thai food, and wikki strip. i wasn't able to see them sunday, which left a really strange missing feeling inside of me. i just wanted to be with my parents hanging out enjoying the peace of hawaii. it's so nice to live in a tropical paradice in which people enjoy visiting. it''s a blessing that i could have my parents come out on this last week here, because dispit the PERFECT weahter and the sweet maui brown tan i'm getting. i am home sick...

7 days.

school out.

school is pretty much over. the only thing left to do is turn in my D&C paper. i can not tell you how happy i am that it is finally summer. my parents arrive today : ] i'm excited for them. they are staying down in waikiki, but there going to take a trip up here tomorrow. let's just say hukilau cafe, kawelia bay, acai bowels, sharks cove and halewai eats are all must do's on this trip.

today was my last day of break. tomorrow i start the real deal. exciting. lil. nervous more. even though i've been out of school for a week i feel like going back is going to be a hard task.but as for my last day. i woke up sunny and warm. too da gym homiesss working out with 50 cent and Jackson Five. then TURTLE BAY with the friend for some early afternoon sun rays. then some studying for my D&C class tomorrow. let me tell you Joseph smith history chapter one. never. ever. ever. cease to amazing me. and i can't gett over the truth of the story of the restoration every time that i read it. it's so perfect. and if every one where to take the time to read and fiest upon the words they too would know. it is a promise. from yours truly.as if that weren't good enough.nap time in my cozy bed and waking up to my phone ringing and a mr. alex young coming up on the caller id. delightful. we giggleeed & i missed him more. o how i look forward to coming home and playing this summer in san diego with the boo bear.

buttt here are some dates i am looking forward to

April 4th- marks the start of general conference. A time to reflet on the inspiring words of ther leaders of the church. during the bussy buzz of the end of the semester it will be nice to take the weekend off and feast upon the words shared at conference.

April 10th- the winter term as i know it will be over. no more lame research papers. ooo how i dread/look forward to this day everyday..dread it because i know it's all work and no play until then. look forward to it because it means a week of absolute relaxation on the island of Oahu. (i will be treating myself to a nice shopping session at the mall.)

June 3- the spring semster term will be over. which hopefully means that my parents will be out here. in which i will vacation with them until.....

June 10- when i board my plane and head back to a wonderful summer in San Diego. this summer i hope that i can make some visits to: santa barbra,san fransico, malibu, santa monic, venice, hollywood, balboa, a padre's game, anddd here's a strech utah/idaho. it's alot for one summer. and i'm almost 100% sure that i won't got to all those places, but going to about half will ticckkle me enough.

June 16- Phil Vassar blesses the San Diego county fair with his wonderful music. I've never been to a country concert and i've been wanting to go to one for quite some time. And since my dear friend Ashley introduced me to Phil 3 years ago I have been a fan.

July 4th- because it means family, summer, and fireworks. It'll be the last holiday i spend with my family until i come back home for christmas. & there's just something about the fourth of july that i love.

it's saturday. which means tomorrow is sunday. which means that andrew leaves. it's beeen quite a splendid trip. I think that i did more "stuff" this week than i have done in the entire semester. and i am left quite exhasted... not to mention the LOADS of homework that needs to be completed by the end of the semester. which is in TWO WEEKS. Garff. andddd my mind/body has been tricked. since andrew is going home on sunday it only feels natural that i will leave with him. i started to plan wonderful little adventures and trips that I will have when in San Diego. then i realized, i don't get to go back until june.

rain, rain go away come again some other day... this rain is killing my plans for being tan when i come home. it rained on monday and again today. hopefully we have sun tomorrow through friday. checking the weather doesn't do much good..



four more days till i step onto a 5 hour plan trip. my insides are goinggg bananas with excitement. i'm looking forward to cheap food prices. driving. mothers cooking. good tasting produce. how i took all this for granted before me leaving home.i've been living like a starving college student lately.. when i mean lately i mean the past week and half because i know i'm going home and i don't want to buy any food because i know i won't eat it all before i go home and i know it'll all go bad before i eat it. so here's a funny story about taking every opportunity to get some free food:

me: i'm going to the exercise club's closing social
whitney: hmm i didn't know you were in the exercise club
me: o i'm not, but i get their e-mails and they are having pizza tonight so i'm going.

i'm really excited for the pizza. i realized i haven't had any since the 2nd week of being here. and this time it's free. all the better.

crummy day.

today was one of those o so very crummy days. days where you wish you could have just slept through the whole day. woke up and the sun looked like it was making a fight to come through. kept my fingers crossed for it clearing up. but with my horribly day luck it did not. there was no point in staying around laie this saturday so me and whitney rode up to north shore to get some thai food at haliewa eats.

me and whit each got something then spilt them. o my fried pineapple rice with chicken is absolutely one of my new favorite dishes. i'm going to have to learn how to make it. we stopped by the chocolate gecko and picked up my favorite mix of chocolate. hazelnut and chocolate truffles. : ]

Arriving back in Laie it was pouring down rain. yuckers. it was nice that we avoided some rain up on north shore. then it was studying researching for my finals and feeling terrible miserable... i can't wait till i'm at my parents house with family around me. this week is going to suck waiting for friday to come so i can be taken away to my purple/lavender room that is decorated for a 9 year old.

O and lucky lucky me i'm going to the mainland for the holidays! o how excited i am. a complete steal on the ticket 250 roundtrip from honolulu to lax. i'll get to wear my pants and not sweat and wear ugglies boots. hahaha. and excited much for double date to meet my brothers girl friend. he's so sneaky with these things..... Well till then it's research research toddless todos.
